Yahya Alshamy


Yahya Alshamy is a fourth-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Economics, a Graduate Fellow in the F.A. Hayek Program for Advanced Study in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, and a Ph.D. Fellow at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. He is also an associate research fellow for the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies (KFCRIS). His research focuses on institutional analysis, defense and peace economics, and governance between state, Islamic, and customary tribal authorities in Yemen. His work has been published in the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Journal of Public Finance and Public Choice, Peace Review, and The Independent Review.”
